What is the Leadership Mentoring Institute? What Does it Do?

The Leadership Mentoring Institute is an organization dedicated to maximizing effectiveness in all organizations. We do that by systematically implementing the latest in 21st century talent technology.

STEP ONE-Do you have the right people in the right place? We help you determine if you have the right people working in the right place. We feel there are three pieces to this part of the puzzle.

  1. Do you have the leadership team in place committed to making changes? By using the Harrison Innerviewâ we can provide for you a leadership team analysis (TAP) to show where your executive teams strengths and areas for improvement are and map out a mentoring plan to make them even better.
  2. If you have questions about your cultures willingness to change we can use our Authenticy Indexâ to help you determine how your most influential people think about the foundation of trust essential for effective change. Is it strong enough now or must we take steps to strengthen the foundation?
  3. By utilizing our Invisible Assets Inventoryâ of 50 carefully crafted, proven questions you can determine the "invisible advantages" your organization has on factors that drive your performance and create value but do not show up directly on your balance sheet.


  4. At the end of step one you will have answers to key questions that determine just how successful your organization will be in the future. According to a Stanford University study reported in "Good to Great" by Collins, the leaders of good companies that become great know that it starts with the right people in the right place. Now you can know where you and your organization stand on the good to great continuum! At the conclusion of step one there is a go/no go decision to make. Having the right people in the right place doesn't help unless they are doing the right things. Step two is a three-part process analyzing key jobs, core beliefs and communications, and core customer centric processes that impact your competitiveness. Is your workforce engaged or just employed?
STEP TWO-Are your people engaged in doing the right things?
  1. Do you have a realistic, usable and noteworthy vision and values statement and do they drive performance and create value? Are they linked to all levels of the organization so that every employee can answer the organizations most critical question by saying this is what I contribute. If they just sit on the wall forget it. They should be key elements in your hiring, promotion, and decision-making process-we'll show you how to do this!
  2. Have you identified your key core 'customer centric' processes that drive value to your key customers? Do you have process road maps so you can track how your product/service gets created, produced, delivered, and evaluated by these key customers who make up your quality market share? Do you know the key performance indicators that drive success and are leading upstream measures so you can prevent problems before they occur at the customer interface? Are these key leading indicators known by everyone, displayed on an easily readable dashboard or scorecard, and reviewed on a regular basis? We will help you do this!
  3. Do you know what type of talent you need to do the key jobs that drive these core processes? We will help you create talent templates to assist in screening, selecting, and/or developing eligible and suitable talent capable of top performance on these critical tasks.

    Finally, after these two steps you will be ready to make a go/no go decision on moving to step three. You now know where you stand on having the right people in the right place and will be making effective changes to further improve in these areas. You will now be making changes to ensure the right things are being done to better serve your customers and enthusiastically engage your team members. Now you are ready to make sure you are continuing to go the right way. You can't go the right way without having the right people doing the right things-so now you are ready!
STEP THREE-Going the right way
  1. We will work closely with you in step three to develop through executive mentoring and coaching the type of leaders you will need to lead your dynamic organization. Each leader at every level will have a development plan and will know exactly what they must do to reach the next level of leadership as you and they grow, perform, and succeed.

  2. Every profit center and every position in your organization will be linked to your vision and balanced scorecard measures and systematically reviewed as part of a Rapid Results Systemâ to encourage and recognize contribution.

  3. Your old training will be revamped and new training linked to the vision, values, And key core processes will be introduced using the best in instructional technology and techniques.
